The suggestive Mount Erice has a height of about 800 meters and an extension of over 18 square kilometers, with the territory sloping down to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Along the ridge of the mountain flows the Lenzi river, whose waters bathe the rich vegetation of the area, characterized by the presence of pines, holm oaks and oaks. On the highest part of the mountain is the town of the same name, Erice, which is made up of two parts: an upper part, where a small portion of the population of about five hundred inhabitants lives. The remaining thirty thousand inhabitants are instead found on the slopes of the mountain, in the second area of Erice, known as Casa Santa.
